Our dogs are a pleasure in the home, an asset in the field and a success in the show ring.

We are Australian National Kennel Council (Dogs NSW) registered breeders of German Shorthaired Pointers, breeding under the prefix Smackpoint, membership number 2100056822.
Our breeding program follows the European (FCI) breed standard and our dogs are consistent winners under both local and international judges. Our dogs are proven hunters on all manner of feather and fur, and excel in many different pursuits, including Obedience, Agility, Dryland Sledding, Lure Coursing, Detection Work and Service Dogs.
We breed for working ability, excellent temperaments, soundness and style.
Smackpoint dogs make wonderful family companions.

As a responsible Dog Breeder, we carefully screen potential owners to make sure they understand exactly what is required when it comes to taking care of these dogs. Please note, because they are such a specialized breed, we do not offer our pups on a first come first serve basis.

OUR 2024 LITTER HAS ARRIVED!

We have 9 gorgeous puppies born on the 24th August. 5 boys & 4 girls. Sire is Smackpoint Rule By Thunder (Kit) Dam is Smackpoint Yggdrasil (Gyda)

Most of our dogs leave us as baby puppies, at 8 - 10 weeks of age, but we do occasionally have retired show dogs available.
We also have a foster program, where dogs we would like to keep in our breeding program are available to companion homes free of charge.

ABOUT SMACKPOINT

Growing up with these incredible dogs has given me a lifelong passion for the breed. They are not just dogs, but my family, best friends, and my obsession. We are striving to preserve their form and function and to make each generation better than the one before it.
All Smackpoint litters are born and raised in our home to ensure a well handled pup, used to all aspects of life in a busy household. We dedicate our life to raising the best dogs possible, and this starts with their early education, beginning at just 3 days old.
We run the Early Neurological Stimulation program (also known as the Super Dog Program), to improve stress tolerance, lower heart rates, and improve cardiovascular performance. We also run the Early Scent Introduction program, to fast track the wiring of the olfactory system, improving scent detection in our working dogs.
From day one our pups receive plenty of human contact and handling. We expose them to many new experiences, from different surfaces to car travel and leash training. Toilet training, crate training and early hunt experiences come about in our day to day activities on the farm, as does interaction with other dogs and all sorts of animals, cats, horses, ferrets, etc, and of course lots of people. By the time your puppy goes home with you, they have a well rounded foundation from which to start their big adventure.
Our dogs come with ANKC (Dogs NSW) pedigree papers, a puppy information pack, a toy or blanket that smells like their mum and litter mates and lifetime breeder support.
Many people come back to us for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th puppy, and we have created a community we call the Smackpoint Family. We have a Facebook page dedicated to our dogs and all Smackpoint owners are welcome to share their adventures, trials and day to day life with us there. Our main priority is ensuring the health and well-being of all our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family - and beyond.
